Fostering is so much fun. My mom started doing it a couple months ago and got Lizzie, the most adorable dog I've ever seen!

Lizzie has an angular limb deformity, which basically means her front leg and foot were very badly twisted. Originally we were told it was no big deal so we listed Lizzie on Petfinder and got some applications for her. Then the next vet said we needed to get it checked out further and after several specialist opinions it was obvious she needed (very expensive) surgery.
Anyway, a woman who applied for her 2.5 months ago has been patiently waiting to adopt Lizzie. We thought she'd be ready by the end of this month, but there have been complications and now it will probably be December before she's medically all set for adoption. I finally convinced the rescue to let this woman just become a volunteer and be Lizzie's foster mom in the meantime. My parents were getting VERY attached, and so was I since she has spent a fair amount of time at my house too since her specialist is closer to me. But after seeing how happy Lizzie's new mom is and how much she's been looking forward to this, I am SO happy that Lizzie is with her. I have been grinning all week looking at her Facebook page with all the pictures she posted and her friends congratulating her and wanting to visit Lizzie. Not all adopters are THIS excited, but it's so fun to meet other people who really love dogs.
