This is my mom's new foster dog Toby, just wanted to share. I hope we will be able to find him a home even though he's a senior, but he is a great dog!
Hello everyone, my name is Toby and I'm very pleased to meet you! I know what you're thinking, "what a handsome dog, he doesn't look like he's 11!" It's true, I don't look my age - and I don't act it either, I'm still very playful!
Now you're probably thinking "but I don't want to fall in love with Toby and then have my heart broken in just a few years." Well I can understand that (I am very lovable after all), but I hope you won't deny me the chance to have a family and a home of my own for the rest of my life. I still have LOTS of love to give. A famous poet once said "'Tis better to have loved and lost, than never to have loved at all." Very wise, don't you think?
Speaking of wise, since I'm older I don't do any of that obnoxious stuff that younger Dalmatians are known for. I've learned a lot in my 11 years! Stuff like:
o Shoes are for walking and bones are for chewing
o Potty breaks only happen outside
o How to sit, lay down, stay, and shake
o Children should be treated gently, and they give great hugs and kisses
o Naps are a great way to pass the time when I'm home alone
I'm very healthy, with just a bit of arthritis in my hips. I'm on a supplement to help with that, and once I lose about 10 extra pounds I should feel even better. I know it's for the best, but I'm not crazy about this diet I'm on. So you will probably want to make sure that I can't reach any tempting people food, including the trash.
I can get along with just about any dog after a careful introduction. I would prefer a dog who will play with me but who isn't too rambunctious. Or I could be an only dog since I'm more interested in people anyway. I love ALL people, big and small. The only criteria is they should be willing to pet me and if they will give belly rubs, that's even better!
