Oh my gosh!! Your post brought tears to my eyes. You did a good thing!!! What a lucky little (big footed) kitten to have found you. Your story is awesome and I highly recommend that you send it to ASPCA website for their success stories.

It's funny though. I'm attracted to the "different" ones too. My sheltie Bud was in a breed rescue but he was 3 (not a puppy) had been shaved so his pic made him look like a fluffy dog - not much like a sheltie and his ears stood up. Plus, he had knee problems and he looked very unhappy. So, of course we brought him home. LOL- And he's a great dog. I would do it again in a minute. Next month is our 6 year anniversary of adopting him and also his 9th birthday.

Here is a picture of Ziggy. The red eye is her blue eye and the yellow one is her green one. That is Coal in the background. He was going to be drowned by his mother's owner's husband if he was not gone by the time he got home from work.(hopefully you can understand that sentence).

Ziggy is so adorable and looks like my Leo, who died in 2002 (he was born in '88).  I love how unique looking he is!

As for Coal, how different can you make your two cats, lol!  It really angered me to read that some heartless human was going to drown him.  What part of their conscience, if they have one, would make them feel okay with themselves after doing such a thing?  What about the owner herself?  If any man said that to me about an animal I would be tossing his clothing out on the lawn and changing the locks.  It gives me the shivers to think about being with someone who is that callous.  To me, how one treats an animal is directly related to the core of their being.  If they are good to animals, then chances are they are good people too.

When I was single and out on my own, I took in my first dog, a shepherd/collie ^Jebu^.  I had dogs growing up and wanted one of my own.  I always said that if my dog did not like a man I was dating, I wouldn't continue to date him.  Luckily, when I met DH Jebu adored him...and the feeling was mutual.
