Sorry I haven't been around. Yesterday my satellite dish was acting up and plus I've been busy. I've discovered  something. A few weeks ago (maybe longer than that) I noticed these dark brown spots on my carpet...where I feed Jack and Taz their apples. Ah, it was the apples! I searched on the net and found an excellent cleaning recipe if anyone is interested.

Mix one tablespoon of liquid (like Dawn) dishwashing soap with two cups of water. Then use a clean white cloth (or any cloth will do) and sponge the stain with the solution. Blot out liquid until it's absorbed and it really works! Those apple stains are gone. I've even used this solution on old stains and it works just as well! So, now I feed Jack/Taz the apples downstairs in the basement area.

This past wekeend we found some leftover carpeting we had used in the den probably 15-20 years ago. Gee, why didn't we think of using this carpeting for the dogs.  So we cut it up and now Jack and Taz have a nice carpeted area. It will be warmer for them in the winter and I've been getting on the floor and playing with them. It's kind of nice. It's like they have their own den LOL

Good tip!  I feed my dogs on the tiled floors or where I have something protecting my carpet (like that even helps lol).  Good idea about using your old carpet!  I have a ton of mine out in the garage and never thought about using it either.  Think I'll make some mats out of it.

Taz will not sit on a tiled floor. Isnt' that strange? Jack will but Taz will not (we've tried it). In order to get their treats they have to sit down! I'm just a drill sargeant LOL!!

Thanks for the tips! We only have throw rugs which I toss in the washer but it's good to have the soap recipe just in case. Our rugs are rubber backed and they're all over the place so Bud can keep his footing.  Bud gets a treat on the linoleum but he'll take it to his bed to eat it. Gracie eats on the linoleum. It's ancient linoleum and we have tile to replace it with but we just haven't gotten to it yet.

Jack will take his treats to his bed too (so Taz can't steal it - lol)
