He doesn't really talk when he is in his cage, but when we let him out to be free for a while he does.

I mean he'll be let out of his cage and he always goes into James' room and runs around under the bed and behind the furniture and all of a sudden he starts squealing like he's in some kind of trouble (I know it's just normal GP talking though).  We always go into the room and ask him 'what's wrong Larry? Come out Larry' bla bla bla.

Why does he do this?  I mean he's free roaming and having a nice time I assume and just starts squealing really loud.

My Baby is too stupid to even notice that there's another creature in our home, but the boys always sit at attention with their ears turning around like radars when Larry starts squealing LOL.

Guinea pigs have different squeals to mean different things. It really is like they are talking to you. So Larry is probably trying to communicate something to you.

See if this site helps you figure out what he might be saying: http://www.mgpr.org/MGPR/Guinea%20Pig%20Sounds.htm

I'm curious what you find out so let us know!

He started to squeal a little bit too when I come home from somewhere.  I think he's trying to say 'hi' come and talk to me or let me out of this cage so I can go into James' room and hide and start squealing like my life depends on it LOL.

I did pick him up yesterday afternoon to put him back into his cage after he started squealing and he wanted me to pet him on his head/nose area over and over, just like my rabbits.  It was so sweet.

I think Larry is my pet now LOL.  James wants me to put him on the bed with him all the time, but Larry doesn't seem to care to be around James, just me.

I'll look up that site and then listen this evening when I let Larry out.

I can't get over the size of Larry's poop.  And it looks so gross compared to rabbits' poop LOL.  Rabbits have this nice round poop and Larry has this over sized looking piece of rice that is brown.  A real turd LOL.  And so much of it!

Snickers used to squeal like she was being tortured and she just wanted me to hurry up and give her a piece of lettuce or tomato. She was a bossy one.

Larry sounds like a sweetie. Snickers didn't want much petting, just her treats.

Cool sounds!

It's the hungry sound he is making when he's in the bedroom.  Why would he be hungry?  He has food all day long in his cage and when free he can get to the rabbits' hay and ok, their pellets if he wants them, but he dosen't like them, so that's ok.

Still I go into the room and call to him when he's squealing like a madman and Jack is growling like yet another madman LOL.

Jack growls everytime Larry 'talks' LOL.  It's so funny.
