Thank you for you words.
2 days ago she died overnight. Our other dog made a strange bark and wanted to go outside. The female was in a sleeping position, but not in a usual place. My Mom woke me up to see if she was alive & her paws were stiff. It was so sad. I do not know if she suffered or went quickly. I feel guilty. It was horrible as I wrapped her up in a blanket to take to the vet's office. That will haunt me. We all loved her so much. The male dog is so sad. He has never been without a dog. I cannot sleep. How do we deal with this guilt? I just hope she knows how much we all loved her. Help me, please.

(((Charmed))),

I am so sorry for your loss (((gentle hugs))). It is so hard when we lose a furbaby. Please take what ever time you need to grieve. The feelings of guilt are a part of the process, we always seem to 'what if' ourselves. There is no doubt that your dog knew how much you loved her, don't ever doubt that. Although she may no longer be here with you physically, she is watching over you and will never leave your heart. Take some comfort in knowing that she has been freed from her ailing body and is now running free.

There is a wonderful board here on iVillage, Pet Bereavement that is run by some wonderful ladies and everyone there has been where you are now. That is how I first came to iVillage and if it were not for the support I received over there I am not sure how I would have made it through. Here is the link:

Please take care of yourself and give extra hugs to the fursibling that was left behind. He is grieving too and understands what you are feeling. Please let us know how you are doing.

(((Hugs of comfort and support))),

((hugs))) I'm sure she knew how much you loved her and is right now waiting at the Rainbow Bridge for the rest of his family to join him.  There is no reason to feel guilty about her death.  You did everything you could for her while she was alive and she knows it.  Please understand this and take heart from the fact that she would not want you to feel guilty for her.  Remember the good times you had with her instead of the sad times.
