My mom was reading a Birds & Bloom magazine today and showed me a picture of a hummingbird in a state or torpor.

You know, I never heard of this either and when you see them you never think they take a rest till night fall. LOL, they are so hopped up on their sugar rush you just don't think they rest during the day.

We had one that sat on the back of one of our porch chairs for over a 1/2 hour and just looked in the window at us. Hubby and I thought he was sick, but he left. I guess he was just doing a right side up torpor, LOL ;o)
