Went back to my favorite park on Sunday even though the weather wasn't very nice. It pretty much misted the whole while we were there but I think the mist actually helped the colors pop a bit more. I was quite happy with lots of the shots I got. Not sure if there will be any more color this coming weekend but I may head up there again to find out. Brionna came with me and we had to be very careful on the rocks, they were very slippery! When you walk up the river it is so calm and quiet there, very peaceful.

This is actually the view from the bridge on the road that goes by the park entrance.

There is a dam by the main park area and a shelter house where you can get some nice pics at times but because of the mist and wind, I didn't take any there.

This is up the rive a bit......

This is a really pretty spot, I am out on the river a bit on some rocks to take this shot, when I turn around the other way I see the picture that follows this one.

This is a spot that is like totally quiet like you are hushed by its beauty. Usually it is nice and calm on this spot. I am standing on some huge flat rocks out in the water to take this shot.

These next two are up the river quite a ways, almost to the end of the park. Lots and lots of rocks here.

Awesome Donna! Is that part of the Root river?

One of our dear friends, that lives out here now, was born and raised in Racine WI. Do you live near there?

I think the only other place I have seen in AZ, that looks like your beautiful photos, but a little more colorful, since the soil and mountains are red in color, is Oak Creek Canyon in Sedona AZ. In the fall it's a blaze of green, red, orange and gold. It's about a hour and 1/2 drive, north east of us and I sure what to go visit there again while the leaves are still changing. Maybe, Hubby and I can go in Nov.

Funny, everyone thinks AZ is a dry hot desert with nothing but cactus, but the northern parts are fantastic!

Oh my gosh Donna! Those pics are gorgeous. They almost don't look real. Like you could see little gnomes or something if you look quick enough!

Very cool websites Doris! It almost looks like the North East.

I think that every area has a charm about it during some part of the year. I used to live out on the coast where there were very few trees but I admired the change of color during the fall in the grasses and wildflowers that grew everywhere. There were even some beach flowers that only blossomed in the fall.

Where I live now, there are trees but also a lot of meadows and fields and they have their own fall colors.

Take some photos Greta! I would love to see your meadows and fields where you live.

We have sort of a desert meadow right out in the front of our property and a few months ago it was all in bloom with little yellow desert flowers. LOL, now it's all desert brownish red.

Ahhhh! Yes, Sedona is beautiful and I would love to live there, but it's very expensive and always full of tourists. John Mc Cain has a awesome weekend/vacation ranch house just outside of Sedona AZ. He entertains there a lot.  In fact he has a bunch of houses and he  doesn't even know how many he has, LOL
