now its monday morning and that snow is almost ALL GONE... have a few patches in the shady spots of my yard that is still there... still some on my deck at the back of the house... but so typical for colorado snow storms...  it can snow for days and days.. and then stops and the melting starts...   the only good thing is with all the snow and wind... most all of the leaves on my front tree is gone now... so it can thor storm after storm at us... but that will probably be next week when it happens.. since j.'s aunt decided to come here and hang out with us for a week(she is staying at ma and pa in laws house.. but the thing is... she doesnt like colorado especially in the winter time .. so the mere fact that she will be here means its going to be pretty crappy i imagine dont know though.. havent checked the long range forecast....

didnt do anything exciting for halloween or the whole weekend for that matter.. except spend time with j. and the cats... and ate the candy we dont give out for kids(LOL)... go ahead give me a hard time if you want.. but it will not change my opinion of the "holiday" and not too mention BUT THERE IS A DENTIST OFFICE HERE IN COLORADO that is BUYING BACK THE CANDY from kids.. so that they dont get cavities ... which sounds real nice and good and special and all UNTIL YOU LEARN THAT TO "HELP"less recieving child in the world... BUT THEY WILL SEND THE CANDY TO THE CHILDREN IN AFGHANASTIN(?????)))) which bring me to wonder when  they do IF US TAXPAYERS get to pay not only for the candy being sent there and then later BECAUSE THEY dont have the dentist's that america does WHEN WE WILL BE EXPECTED TO PAY FOR a kid's cavaties being filled at my expense when I WAS NOT THE ONE WHO GAVE HIM CANDY in the first place...lol.

sure? it seems like a good idea to share... but to what price must we share?

Loved the headline... :-D

As for Halloween, I hate it I hate it I hate it!!! First of all, it is my birthday. Secondly, it is so NOT a German holiday and I hate it when they try to establish it here as well! It is so artificial! I forget to buy candy every year, then I try to celebrate my birthday, but damn kids ring at the door every 5 minutes... and I never know if it is my guests or kids. We left a note this year kindly asking not to be bothered... You think that stopped them??? On top of it, we are moving house right now... and the new house is EMPTY!!! You can see it is empty!!! And what did we find yesterday??? The whole front door was smeared with yucky stuff and toothpaste, especially the doorknob! Next year I will be lurking in the dark... Did I mention we are adopting two labs this month???

See who laughs last...

One nice thing about it melting is that you don't really have to shovel it!!!  Mother Nature finally decided to flip the winter switch for Alaska.  I woke up to -5 degrees this am.  BRRRRRR!!!!  So it is back to plugging in the car whenever I park it for any length of time, but oh well - that's life in Alaska.

Halloween was fun.  We all took D's DD8 out trick or treating and then we went to watch the college hockey game.  It was really fun!!!!  They won in sudden death overtime with only a little over a minute left.  They are really having a good season!!!

Labs are really wonderful dogs!!  I've had two different one and they are fantastics.  The only advice I have is to kennel (or crate) train them right from the beginning and also leash train them as soon as you get them.  They are not too little.  Leash training was the hardest thing to do with both of my labs!!!!!!!

The snow is melting fast.  Will be in the mid 60s later this week.  It is too early for snow in Colorado!
