Gadget to help women feign virginity angers many in Egypt

In this article in the LA Times, it's reported that a new device called the Artificial Virginity Hymen Kit is not welcome in Egypt for fear that it "will promote promiscuity in a culture that forbids premarital sex."

I think it's very sad that there are cultures where a woman would feel the need to fake her virginity out of fear.

And in the event that oral sex on her is afterplay, there will be blood shed of a different kind!

I probably would think its a good novelty or sex toy, where women do want to surprise their partner with a point of difference (where the aim isn't to hide the truth)....rather like  revirgination without surgery....but using it in such cultures to hide the truth,  i think could be asking for trouble with potentially disastrous outcomes.

How many times have we seen those movies where she is trying to hide the pregnancy and he stumbles on the kit in the bathroom.... I tend to think the truth has a way of revealing itself.
