DFH's family is all so cute! I met most of them when I went to Brazil in April. his mom kept asking me when I was going to give her grandchildren while I was there!

Coincidentally I got knocked up when I got home and we decided to move the wedding date to a definate date before the baby comes (Sept 20) His parents are so excited we're getting married and making a family. His mom is already making baby clothes. We butted heads a few times, but overall we all really like eachother.

So apparently I am luckier than most of my coworkers... some of them have some EVIL in laws!

Well I wouldn't say that I hate my future in-laws but I wouldn't say that I like them either.  Its been a struggle for me from the start and I don't see things getting any better after we're married.

The chief reason is that my fiance was engaged when he was 19 (we're both now 25) to another girl who happens to have the same name as, although a different spelling.  She and I physical resemble each other and I have even been confused for her at family functions.  His parents have never made me feel welcome in either of their homes (they are divorced) and his mom even had a ton of pictures of the ex-fiance (theys split in early 2003) all over her house until just recently.  I have overheard conversation between my FMIL and her friends and family members comparing me to the ex-fiancee and how much she wishes her son had married the other girl.  Its been a HUGE struggle to get over and I don't think I will ever fully be accepted by most of his family.  It really hurts but I haven't ruled out the possibility that someday they will see how much their son and I love each other and how devoted I am to him.
