The Bride-To-Be

Hi Ladies,

    I'm new here, but I thought I'd post anyway. I think if money were not an issue my ring would be nicer, my dress more exclusive, the basics of the wedding would stay the same. Twenty people at the ceremony, my Mom marring us, and me queen Kate for the day. Our honeymoon is a camping/ hotel staying trip around California. I would want to stay at a spa, and a hot springs hotel. We also want a casual party on the beach and stay there for three weeks rather than two.

I want a modest ring, I have one picked out at Walmart that costs about 174 dollars (it is beautiful!).  I think it is cubic zirconia...but that's fine with me...it is a symbol.  I must add that I make good money and I surprise myself that I would want a modest ring...but my other 1/2 doesn't make so much and I'm not very materialistic...it is the thought that counts.

My dress has to be beautiful...I want it to be white and frilly and long...and lacey...I have been married and I have 2 older sons 22 and 19.  But, I was always married for the wrong reasons and never had a wedding of my dreams...I had what was available, a backyard...I was pregnant...it was just to seal the union to make other people happy.  So, the beautiful dress for me symbolizes that "this is the man" I WANT to MARRY and I want to look as beautiful as I can on our wedding day.

I want it to take place on a seawall...that he and I visit frequently to find serenity when life is FULL.

He doesn't know any of this by the way....we have talked about getting married (but no details).  We also plan for 2010. 

I want flowers for me.....and my maid of honor and some type of flower on the suit jacket for the men.  My guy and a close friend.  Obviously a justice of the peace, close family....no friends (or very few).

I want a reception in a cheap - fun place....disc jockey...and the song "Patience" by Guns and Roses to be playing when we are entering the reception party. 

The official first dance will be the song "Yellow" - Cold play...it was a song he picked for me when we first met...I was so touched that he picked a song for me, taped it and to this day (2 years later).....sets it so it plays when we go in the truck - (we don't go in the truck much).

I want to do the cake nicely....I want a dance for my mother and father.  I want a dance for him and his Mom - his Dad passed.  Pretty much open floor after that...Would like to close by 11pm, we are non-drinkers and tire easily.  Honeymoon for a couple days in a close but "woodsy" place in a log cabin.

Those are my hopes and dreams for my perfect wedding.
