I don't know what's happened to the rest of the posts in this thread, but if what you wrote is a summary of the rest of the discussion then WELL SAID :)

Sometimes when I've ranted on a CFBC board about inappropriate behaviour I've witnessed in public, mothers have said "YOU were a child once!!" (BINGO!)

Well yes, I WAS a child once and when I was a child, my parents managed not to upset other people if they took me out in public. It's not rocket science!
