Honestly, is it too much to ask that a guy posts at least one accurate photo of himself? Surely it's possible to have something from this year, not 2 years, 6" of hairgrowth and 25lbs ago?! If you don't have anything recent that you like, get a friend to take some more until you do.

Sorry, I just had to vent after a recent date where the guy was very nice and sweet but quite obviously his photos were a couple of years out of date. Frankly, if he'd posted one of himself today, I wouldn't have been interested.

Oh yeah, it's amazing, huh?  I have one of those stories myself.  In his pictures, he looked young, fit, attractive and with a really nice smile.  His main pic showed him kneeling on a cliff somewhere with a dog smiling at the camera.  Looked VERY cute.  So we decided to meet.  I showed up at the restaurant and the only person waiting is a slightly balding, red-headed guy with slightly buggy eyes and a HUGE gut.  I'm thinking "OK, he's not here yet" and continue to wait.  But within a few seconds, this pudgy, balding guy comes over to me and says, "Vexer?  Hey, I'm X!"  I am in shock for a few seconds but recover and we go sit down.  The whole time I keep looking at him thinking 1) I'm really glad he recognized me b/c there is NO way I'd have recognized him and 2) WHO the heck does he remind me of??  It kept bugging me and in the middle of the night, it came to me like a revelations - he looked like TIM RUSSERT!  Whew, load off my mind.  Needless to say, I did not go out with him again.  I think he could tell I was really blown away.  Later on, I saw him still on Yahoo and he'd added a couple more recent pics but they were of him in a really cold environment - like skiing or something because he had this huge pouffy parka on - one was from a million miles away and the other showed him ice climing or something so you couldn't really see him.  Sigh....

I don't mind the weight gain - I can handle that - but the Prince Valiant haircut?! I wish I had the nerve to say, "You really looked a LOT more handsome with the short hair so would you please get a haircut and then we can go out." Somehow I don't think that would endear him to me.

Yep- i went on ONE date with this guy who was pretty cute in his pic. I met him & he was MUCH older, quite a bit more bald & about 20+ # or more, than he looked in the pic (oh, & of COURSE, 3-4" shorter than his profle said). He talked all about how he was a Navy Seal, etc .... WELL, the pic in his profile was with his son ... who is now FOURTEEN! So, his pic is FOURTEEN yrs old. He was a Navy Seal - LONG ago. He since has (which i found out after from people in town) become "self employeed" which apparently means sitting at this bar in town, EVERY DAY, from noon to 1am. Nice.

I agree. It's a legitimate expectation!!! Surely these people who post old pics are aware that they're basically deceiving people. Maybe not.
