I'm talking to a guy from match who is very cute in his pics except 2 (out of 10). These two pics look drastically different...he's about 30 pounds heavier, and his style of dressing is completely different, sort of sloppy and plain. He said he took a trip to Malaysia last year so I asked him if all those pics were from that trip..I was trying to get him to elaborate on where and when the pics were taken because it seemed like perhaps the cute ones were from a decade or so ago. I don't want to come across rude to him, but should I just flat out ask how old the pics are? If I ask that, it'll be obvious that I'm doubting he looks that good now especially based on those two odd pictures. How can I be tactful about this? I want to find out before I agree to meet him ..I don't want to be shocked in a bad way.

I figure if the guy is willing to put up 10 year old pictures then he opens himself up to direct questions on them.

How about? "I noticed how different you look in the pictures you post. I would like to know what you look like now so please point me to the ones that have been taken this year. Thanks."

Mark

Ouch. That's so direct. I was trying to avoid saying 'you look so different in your pics'. I guess I should just come out and ask, though. Yeah, if he's going to put up old pics then he should be open to direct questions about it...and I bet he has been asked by others not just me. I'm really hoping he'll tell me that those two stragler pics were from 2 years ago before he did a life revamp. lol...we'll see. I'll ask him today.

i dont think it's rude for you to ask how old are your pics? it's better to be completely straight forward about everything that includes asking about the photos. You know that he must be looking at your photos too asking "I wonder if she looks like that in person?". I once met a guy in person and he was at least 20 - 30 pound in person. I must say I was disappointed and felt like he wasnt completely up front about himself. You should ask as much as possible before meeting that person in public because hey this might be the guy you might marry one day. it's like buying a car...sure it looks good online but will it look the same in person too? You would want to see this car from all angles right????

<<I'm really hoping he'll tell me that those two stragler pics were from 2 years ago before he did a life revamp. lol...>>

Lol! Yes, like maybe Stacy and Clinton (is that his name?) from "What Not to Wear" got ahold of him...or "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy"! :-)

I remember meeting a guy whose pix were so old I didn't even recognize him. They had to be at least 10 years old. I asked him about it and he said he hadn't gotten around to updating them.... Ya, right.

I totally agree with Mark. You have every right to ask him.
