My 23 year old boyfriend sleeps with a three foot long stuffed moose. It makes me furious to see him spooning this thing and even more angry when he rolls away from me to cuddle with the it. I've told him repeatedly that it bothers me and I've even hid it a few times but it keeps ending up back in the bed. This isn't something he's had since childhood, he only bought it about 5 years ago. Is it ridiculous for me to be so annoyed by this juvenile behaviour? Is there anything I can do to get rid of the moose for good?

What a different kind of problem you have...kind of funny too, hehe. I don't mean to make light of it because it is a problem. How long have you been dating this guy? When you mention the issue to him, what does he say? Short of chopping the poor thing up into little pieces, I dont' know what to tell you except that he needs to understand that it is YOU that needs to be spooned, not a furry little beast. But, with all seriousness, he might want to examine why he bonded so heavily with an innatimate object.

Oh my...I've never heard this one before. Bear in mind, that while I'm a fan of spooning, I also sleep cuddlng a pillow because I happen to like to feeling of holding something soft. For me, it's a comfort thing...I need something between my bony elbows in order to fall asleep. :)

You say you've talked with him about how this bothers you. What does he say? I would think that a grown man would be embarrassed about this given the obvious threat to his masculinity if any of his buddies were to find out.

In the tone of an AA meeting: "Hello. My name is Helen. I'm 25 years old and I sleep with a three foot stuffed dog."

Okay kidding aside, I've had the dog since I was four. And like the last poster said I like sleeping with something in my arms. When I travel I use a pillow. But when I have an intimate partner come over (I'm single now, but when I had a bf or unfortunate fling) I most definitely put the dog in the closet. Even though my ex-bf knew about the dog and was one of those men who doesn't want to fall asleep cuddling (hence the ex part) I still didn't bring the dog into the bed. I too would wonder about the attachment to the innanimate object, it's one thing to be attached it's another to choose moose over woman.

aimzee3...

2 schools of thought from Pianoguy:

Thought #1: The stuffed moose is probably a substitute for YOU! I think he's being more than a little unfair if the 3 of you are sharing the same bed at the same time? After all, 2's company and 3's a crowd! Otherwise...what's the problem?

Thought #2: Would you feel better if your 23-year old b/f had A LIVE BEDWARMER (aka another woman) sharing his bed instead of a 3 foot long stuffed MOOSE???

I'm serious!
