The name you want us to call you. - Sienna, though it's not my real name

Whether or not you are in or were in an abusive relationship. - I was in an emotionally abusive marriage for 5+ years. It didn't really escalate - or come to my knowledge rather - until the last year or more of the marriage. All the while I wondered if it was "bad enough" to end a marriage. I read every book on abuse I could get my hand on. My situation was not near as bad as most people, but it was bad enough to get out.

The current status of your relationship. - I divorced him, kicked him out of the house, and have been 1000000 times happier. Sure there were guilt induced tactics during the separation time, but I got over it, and he faded away. Life is so so sweet. I support myself, I have an wonderful supportive caring boyfriend who is a gem. I couldn't be happier!

Something special about you. - I really can do anything I set my mind too. I am very proud of myself. I like who I am and all that I can do.

Yes I was...currently single. I have been married once and we have been separated/divorced for almost eighteen years this month. We had two children...dd and ds.

The current status of your relationship.
My ex-fiancé and I have had no contact for just a little over four months.
We had been broken up and eventually I broke off the engagement...since early on red flags and felt he had some major "anger" issues.
Life was definitely calmer without him in it.
Less drama...more peaceful.
Just really couldn't deal with the stress.
I am not afraid of him anymore.

I guess I am a survivour.
If I could survive my abusive marriage and the years following it and the relationships in between I believe I am a courageous, strong woman, who is independent and resilent.
Wow I can't believe I said that about myself.
Since finding my voice I am no longer Silent.
