Thank you Clarity. Your post are always right on.

The Pain Stops: when you forgive them for their faults and forgive yourself for staying so long. When you know that you tried harder than you ever tried before, and you know in your heart that love should not be so much work.

The Pain Stops: when the promise of a new tomorrow is just enough to start replacing the emptiness in your heart, and you start dreaming again of who you used to be and who you will become.

This really hit home for me.

Kristin

This on struck me, as well, Kristin.

I am on Day 5 of total and complete NC. This is the longest I have gone in the rollercoaster of a nearly 7-year A. Am completely sad, but not as hopeless and full of despair as in the A. I hope this gets easier and not harder...!

Nice post and comments.

Thanks,

Lofluv

Loflov,

I am on day four of complete NC after a on/off seven year A. We have been NC before but this time it has to be forever. Somehow the idea of never seeing or speaking to someone again for the rest of my life seems so daunting.

Kristin,

I know what you mean. I think so many times of picking up the phone and calling...But, he may not be able to answer, he may not want my call, he may talk me into getting back "together" and I may get caught up in the cycle again....There are so many good reasons to cut him off and they are much better than my curiosity. Because that is what it is--curiosity.  And curiosity killed the cat!

I hope you are hanging in there. I have trouble on the weekends (have since my divorce and I was free and he wasn't so I sat around and waited for him...). I really can't believe that it's been a week. I hope I can continue. And, I do admit to listening to some old voicemessages from him this afternoon. I liked hearing his voice, but it didn't devestate me the way I thought it would. I guess that's progress!
