What Do You Guys Think of Balloon Dad?
Don and I were traveling to Klamath for our visitation with DJ this weekend when it was all unfolding. We stopped at a McDonalds that's about halfway on our trip because I had to make the wee and I needed something to drink (and to get OUT OF THE STINKING CAR)...and at that point they still thought Falcon was in the balloon.
Don started talking about how at 7,000 ft it would be 7 degrees and he woudln't be alive, then they said that the balloon was made out of helium, then Don said, oh yeah, he's dead for sure....then we had to get back on the road. My friend was texting me about an hour later than the balloon landed and the boy was not inside.
I told Don, he jumped out and is hiding now because he's terrified of getting in trouble seeing all this trouble he caused.....which they played off perfectly. Until little Falcon slipped up on national television.
Obviously I don't think the wack-a-doos intended for this stunt do shut down the Denver International Airport and for the National Guard to be called in, but how freaking IRRESPONSIBLE CAN YOU BE?????
It's just dispicable to me what they led their children to do - this elaborate lie ......having one child lie about Falcon getting in the balloon - then poor Falcon lying about the whole thing to the point where he was throwing up on TV being asked about it! WHO ARE THESE PEOPLE.
Responders were prepared to risk their lives for this boy in that balloon to save his - ANYTHING could have happened on a rescue attempt, when he wasn't in there, and they knew all along.
Just wondering what reactions you all had?
