Hot Topic: I Don't Want to Get Married

I can't really say I'll never ever be married, ever, at all. I'm open to the idea, just not pushing for it.

But so far, never married, & childfree by choice. Children are nice, I just don't think it's for me. I'm 31.

I'm with you on being anti-marriage.  

My opinion on marriage comes from the fact that for a long time now I have put up with so many hateful, condescending comments from married family members and friends, basically because they are jealous of my freedom.  If marriage is so great, why are they so jealous ?  Marriage must be pretty bad.  right ??

Oh, and the people who have kids are even worse.  They think they are so superior to me because I don't have kids.  

Someone actually made the comment to me once....."if you ever decide to marry...".  Well, you don't just walk outside, pick a guy and get married.  I think it has a lot to do with fate, you can't force it.   right ?     I wasn't even dating at the time.  Who did she think I was going to marry ?  

People really annoy me.  I love these message boards because it is the only place I don't feel so alone.

I have been in your shoes before.  I have already been asked this kind of the question.  I was only 22 at that time.  I broke up the engagement for less than a year and wasn't in a new relationship at that time.  WTF are those people talking about.  I think they just told me to find someone that was handy but no need to care about what kind of the man they are.  I rather choose to be single instead of being with someone I don't like. 

Marriage to me is just a ceramony nothing else.  I am anti-marriage of myself.  I don't care if people like to be marriage but it is just not for me at all.  I think people are jealous of us of not being married because we have more freedom.  My new boyfriend has been married in the past for 7 years.  He told me that he is a lot happier after divorce.  I am 31 and still hate to be married.  I never have desire to have children at all.
