I would like to find out from other memeber since we are like minded people.  Did anyone ever ask you in your lifetime "when are you going to be married?" that kind of the question? For me, my answer is "no" always.  The problem is that people will never believe or their mind are not even being programmed at all.  They will only say to you "you will change your mind and so and so said didn't want to be married and now she is married".  I said "I am who I am not your so and so and it is none of your business even I change my mind".

Most people will only say "you just haven't found the right one for yourself".  I don't understand why they just assume that everybody want to be married and have children.  They just don't see it is not for everyone and some people don't even think that is important to them at all.  Marriage to me is never the list to do in my life.  Something I would like to do but not doing it right now is because it is at the bottom of my list to do, like buying a house.  Marriage is not in my list to do.  Also, it is just a ceremony.  A piece of paper mean nothing to me at all.  I rather think it is useless paper.

i totaly agree...

the thought of marriage(right now) i dont want a part of it... i want to be with my boyfriend forever... even the thought of an engagment ring makes queezy. We both were scared off marriage from previous relationships and are much happier when we dont have to worry about that stuff... maybe when im close to 30 and have all my bearings collected... but im 22... hes 25 and its deffanitly not on our "to do" list. We pretty much live together ( he never sleeps at home, just goes to collect new clothes) and we are so happy with life. My parents (and his mom) both want marriage and grandbabies, and that isnt going to happen anytime soon.

I am 31 and still have no such desire to be married at all. I don't think it got anything to do with age because you don't want to be married. I think it got more to do with your personallity.

My family finally believes me, only because my bf proposed and I said no.  I think they were all thinking that I was secretly wanting to get married and just waiting for him to propose but they now realize that was never the case.

I'm not exactly opposed to marriage, I just don't see the point of it.  I probably will marry him eventully, just to make him happy.  But the piece of paper means nothing to me.

Hehe! Funny that you have started this topic. Just recently my bf and I were hanging out with a married couple who are friends of his. We have not seen them for a while, so of course the conversation turned to "when are you two getting married" pretty quick. Now I have stated my opinions to this particular couple before many many times to no avail. This time I firmly stated never. Well the guy's response to me was that it is nonsense, and I am just waiting for my bf to propose, because every woman dreams of being married, and women dream about their ideal wedding since childhood.  WTH is wrong with people, LOL. Anyway, to make the long story short I said that I have never thought about a ceremony, never envisioned myself in a white dress, never cried at weddings, etc. I love weddings, as long as it is for other people and all I have to do is show up and enjoy myself. Well, he probably believed me, but then stared at me like I was a freak of nature, LOL.

I think this is my biggest pet peeve, is people smiling at me indulgently and saying things like wait until you grow up, meet the right person, etc. ARGH, people!!! At least now I have a place to vent.
