I recently gave birth. We stopped having sex when i was about 6 months pregnant. He said it was weird for him. So after my 6 weeks check up I started  the nuva ring. I have been on that for 1 month now and we have still not had sex? He says its due to stree and that its him and not me? But one starts to really question this>  Any suggestions?

Hi ahovatter, and welcome to the board. First of all, my apologies for taking so long to respond to this. I didn't see it down here amongst all the promos, and I'm going to ask the people with the magic wand to move your post up to the top folder, where it might get more attention.

There could be many reasons why he isn't interested in sex at present, and him cheating wouldn't be anywhere near the top of the list. The most likely reason would be that he has difficulty reconciling the image of you as the mother of his child, and as the hot babe he first hooked up with, at the same time.

Getting pregnant and having a child affects men and women differently. Although it may have been hurtful during your pregnancy that he would not have sex with you, it's quite likely he had little fear of poking that little creature growing inside of you - wink, wink :).

But - Now it's up to you to take control of your sex life. Surprise him with sexy lingerie, plan a surprise night out and arrange for your child to be watched by a family member - even if it's for an hour. It's very difficult for some couples to make time for romance and intimacy after having a child. But, it's IMPORTANT. Yes, it can be stressful for both of you to adjust to your new exciting life, but isn't getting off an easy way to alleviate that stress? Just saying...

Stop talking about his lack of intimacy with him and take control. I know you have a lot on your plate, but it's up to you to bring back the romance.

And, NO - at this point I'm not convinced he's cheating on you.

P.S. Congrats on your new bundle of joy!

Corn
