Senator John McCain, the Republican candidate for the Presidency, announced today that his running mate is Sarah Palin, Governor of Alaska.

What do you think of the prospect of having a woman in the White House anyway, even with Hillary Clinton out of the picture?

I could NEVER vote for a republican and I don't think he's going to win. So I don't think much about it.

Ohhh...I'm guessing that was strategic on his part - purposely picking a woman to try to lure in all the Hillary supporters who don't support Obama.  Or trying to make his campaign represent change too.

I'd love to see a woman in office, but I would never vote for McCain or a republican candidate.  I'd rather wait for the day when a woman makes it to the presidency, because I have a strong feeling that's inevitable.

I did find it interesting that he picked a woman. I know it's about strategy, but still, there is at least a chance that McCain will win it and Palin will be the first female VP.

Oh, I definitely agree it's a cleverly-designed ploy to lure in female supporters of Clinton and to represent the change Obama speaks of so often. I don't know whether Palin will become our first female VP but I do agree that we'll see a woman President in the not-so-distant future.
