I confess that I HATE the ad they stuck in the middle of our board. I know ivillage is looking at ways to bring up revenue but it's disrupting and irritating. Keep them on the side, top and bottom- less intrusive.
I confess that I think I ticked off my neighbor and I feel like it's her fault for being too crazy about this. We had some neighbor issues so she wanted to start a petition on the street to present to the city. DH and I agreed to help. Turns out it wasn't needed and the city took care of the issue before we did anything.
THEN she decided to start a neighborhood watch. She asked and I agreed to help hand out the initial paperwork with her but not to be a 'leader'. So I've been helping her and two other people volunteered to be co-leaders at the meeting (I did not!). She hasn't contacted them and is continuing to contact me- even wants to put her name and my name (and both our phone numbers!) on 'neighborhood watch letters'. I politely told her I'm a little too busy right now to take on a leader role (jeez, I do a million things lady- I can't do this too!) but that I was willing to help with specific tasks.
She writes back a semi-sarcastic e-mail. Ugh. I wanted to remind her I never agreed to do this in the first place and she's taking neighborhood watch to a psycho level. Like anyone is going to tell you their license plate numbers, the hours they work each day, who else should be visiting their home and descriptions of cars/license plates, all occupants of the house, etc etc etc. Way too much information. I thought this was supposed to be a low key get to know your neighbors thing!
