So my daughter is napping and I'm sitting on the couch with a big bag of Halloween candy. I'm eating it and can't stop! Does anyone else do this? Eat their Halloween candy before they get a chance to give it out? What do you normally give out for Halloween if anything? Do you get a lot of trick or treaters? We live in a neighborhood right near the center of our (small) town so we usually get a lot of trick or treaters.

My daughter is going as Ariel this year (complete with a red wig!) and her and I will trick or treat around our neighborhood and go to a Halloween party at one of her preschool friends houses. My brother and his wife came in from Brazil last night so my brother will probably trick or treat with Maddy and I because he looooves Halloween! He is going as Indiana Jones this year. They came from Brazil specifically to spend Halloween with Maddy. His wife will stay at my house and take care of the trick or treaters and DH is working but he will be able to stop by the party and see Maddy all dressed up as a mermaid. I'm excited about Halloween but need to step away from the candy!!

I'm not really a candy person so i dont have a big problem stopping myself from eating the candy. There are only certain types of candy that i really like so i just try not to buy that kind!

We dont get trick or treaters here because we live in an apartment complex. But my mom gets tons at her house so we are going over there to hand out candy so she can go trick or treating with my sister and niece. I was going to go with them but honestly, i'm too tired to walk more than 2 blocks so hubby and i are just going to go hand out candy and watch some scary movies. Not sure what candy she got this year but its usually those little bag of skittles and some chocolate candy bar.

I don't really like most candy, so I don't ever really get into the bags of Halloween treats!  I usually give away "fun-sized" chocolate candies, (M&Ms, Kit Kats, Reeses, Twix, etc.)  We usually give two candies to each trick-or-treater.  I think that's plenty, because most kids I know end up receiving more candy than they can eat! ;)

We do get a lot of trick-or-treaters!  In fact, last year there was an additional school bus full of kids brought into our neighborhood by a church that is out of the area.  It's fun though!  DH usually stays home to give out candy, while I take my "little sister" trick-or-treating.  This year I am taking her for a little while and then she will continue trick or treating with friends.  I have a 5 month old son and I don't know if I am going to take him to a few houses just for fun, or if I will leave him home with DH.  It will probably depend on the weather.

I don't think I'm dressing up this year.  If I do, I will probably just wear my little vampire costume from last year.  DH says he is going to dress up to give out the candy, though.  And my son has two costumes!  A dragon outfit for daycare tomorrow, and a pumpkin outfit for Halloween day/night. :)

It's been a while since I lived in a place that got trick-or-treaters, but I really miss it. I think halloween is a kids holiday that adults have sort of taken on, but I'd much prefer to just hang out and pass out candy than do the whole adult party thing. My parents used to go out to wild parties with their friends when I was in college and I'd ditch my room mates and their college parties and go home and hand out candy at their place!! And when I did hand out candy, yeah, I was totally like you. I could usually (but not always) keep myself from opening the candy before the big day. But then I'd steal treats from the bowl in between trick-or-treaters all night! LOL

Thankfully though there's no candy to raid here ... though I kind of miss that too!

No, because it's hidden, lol.  SO found it and asked about it, and I told him it's for potential trick-or-treaters and please re-hide it.

I always buy my favorite kind of candy because I get about 6 trick-or-treaters.  Then, after, I get to eat it all and it's like I went myself but only got my fav.  :)
