Hi all, I need to buy a printer for my new computer- any advice on which to buy? Do you know of any good sales or deals going on now?

I have a new Dell PC, if that helps at all. I don't know much about printers so it's like picking a name out of a phone book as far as I'm concerned. If you have any recommendations, let me know.

Thanks! :)

I don't know if you have a "Brandsmart" in your area but they have the lowest prices and best deals ever.

I recently purchased an HP 6300 series that has a fax, scanner, printer/ copy machine for $135.00. It comes with 2 ink cartridges. black & color. I just love it.

The ink alone is usually $35.00 per box.

Check it out. They may even ship it to you. Hugs, Lu  :)

If you are planning on printing mainly black and white & text pages, I'd recommend a laser printer.  I have a Brother b/w laser printer I bought almost 10 years ago for around $200 and it still runs great (plus they're half the price and size now).  The toner cartridges are about $50-75, but I only get a new one every few years.

I have a newer color ink jet printer, scanner, copier that is wireless, which works great as it's upstairs in the study while my laptop is usually down stairs.  It's a Brother brand and works well, though the picture printing is not good by any means.  If you're planning on printing pictures at home, I'd get a printer specifically for that job.

Good luck,

Christi

Thanks Lu, I'll check it out. I don't really know about printer brands and I don't think it's an important enough purchase to do major research on it, so I figured I'd just go by personal recommendation. :)
