hi everyone. My name is Zenycha and my bf's name is Bernardo. He is leaving for basic training tomorrow to Gergia(I live in PA ahh!). I am a mess right now lol. But anyway we have been together since 9.21.09 I know that's not long but we were best friends wayy before he asked me out. We are so in love with eachother and I know our love is going to make us strong. But I just cant help and worry about him and be sad about him leaving. I can't wait to meet u guys!

Hi Zenycha, welcome to the board! I'm Steph, 22 living in NC. My husband, Adam, is in the USMC and is currently deployed.

When I was with my ex I also lived in PA while he was in basic in GA. I lived in Hershey at the time. I think since ya'll haven't been together for too long, just take it one day at a time and see how things go. Send him letters and let him know you are thinking about him, but just take it slow. If it's meant to be, it will be.

Hi, Zenycha, and welcome to the board. I'm Melanie, and my husband, Tom, has been active-duty Army for five years. He actually left today for a 5-month school in Arizona (we live in Kentucky), and we'll be moving to Georgia when he returns. We've also survived a 15-month deployment together, and he deployed for a year before we met. Taking it one day at a time is, indeed, key to successfully surviving any separation, as is keeping busy and focusing on the things you have rather than what you don't. (Separations can be huge opportunities to strengthen your relationship if you choose to make them such.) Good luck!

Thank you so much for the welcome! Yea I'm planning on writting him everyday after I get a letter from him. He wrote me on AIM today from his hotel just to let me know he loves me and is thinking about me so that really shows me alot. Thank you for the advice=]
