I had posted here a few months back about my boyfriend of 2 years being sent to the Pentagon, and how I was in school. Well I have an update: We got married on Oct 2nd :)
Last week, after much thought, I withdrew from school to go with him in December. I was going to school to become an x-ray tech, only to find out that my license would not have even carried over to Maryland. I live in AZ currently and each state has their own requirements. So, I will find a school over there that will take my current credits.
My parents, on the other hand, are not that thrilled that I quit. My mom says she just wants me to be happy and hopes I am not moving for the wrong reasons. I feel that I made the best choice, and am happy.
So, has anyone quit school to go with their spouse? How did your family handle it?

Thanks,
Kim

Hey there Kim! Congrats on the marriage!! I know exactly what you're talking about. I recently got married in April to my Army hubby. I am a creature of habit so I'd never moved away from home, had the same job for 6 yrs, and was in school part time. I left all of that to move with my husband. At first, it was definitely a shock and took some time to adjust to. I was out of my comfort zone.
Strangely, I missed school. :-)

I don't regret it. I'm returning back to school next semester when my hubby deploys and I'm very excited! My advice, if YOU are happy and feel you did what was best for you...well then, try hard to ignore all the other opinions. I got the same thing from my friends and family (you're crazy for quitting school...blah blah) but "WE" can return to school...right now, let's enjoy our marriage :-)

If you don't mind me asking, what are you going to school for? Did the college you are going to now, accept your previous credits? This will be my first time moving away... so I am a bit excited, but nervous at the same time! I have lived in AZ all my life, and now will be leaving in December when snow season is in full fledge! And, I cannot stand the cold, lol!

Well, with the school I'm attending now....it's the same school I've been attending. I'm moving back home while he's deployed which gives me lots of time for school work. So, I know the credits are good. :-)

With your school, take FULL advantage of the advisor's. Take your transcripts to the school and find out if your current credits will be accepted. Let me know if you have anymore questions. I'm happy to help!
