Hi everyone,

Happy Friday!  Also, Happy Cabbage Night!

(Does everyone know what that is, or is that another regional thang?)

I'm loving that Halloween is on the weekend this year - it makes it all that much more festive.

So, what's everyone going to be for Halloween?  Who's doing the trick or treat thing with the kids?  What are they going as?  Any grown-up type spooky fun on tap for anyone?

My small boy is going to be a skeleton.  There has been an ugly rumor floating around that DH and I are also expected to dress up this year but in my mind, that isn't going to happen.  LOL

My big boy tells me that they have a butterfly costume for my baby granddaughter.  I don't know how I'm expected to resist gobbling her up when faced with that sort of cuteness.  :)

Kim

Cabbage night? Um do you have to EAT cabbage or can you do something useful with it (like say THROW it at something HARD and RUIN it for consumption?) So I guess that answers that question, I have no clue what Cabbage Night is. At first I was thinking maybe you revamped the old habit of finding out if it was National Candy Corn Day (which it is, btw)...but no Cabbage Night appears to be something. Explain please.

As for our Halloween plans, DD has a performance at school tonight, which I am very excited about. She is a big Jr. High student now so she doesn't want to have Mom around while she goes trick or treating with her friends, BUT! Small boy is only 6 and he LOVES Mom. So! He is going to be the Black Power Ranger (I have no idea what the Black Power Ranger does, btw) and my xH and I are going to take him trick or treating. Should be a good time. Oh, and btw, there will be NO costume wearing for me. I am going as a Mom! Just like every other year. *snort*

Sunday? I do believe I have declared Jammie day for myself. Yes, that sounds like a super plan.

Never heard of Cabbage Night!  Please do tell....

We will be trick or treating with the kids this year.  The boys are Ninjas.  One is Snack Eyes (if I am remembering this right from the GI Joe movie).  My twelve year old daughter is going to be a sorceress and added an Elvira type long haired wig.  My thirteen year old plans to dress up somewhat as a princess (wear a formal and tiara).  She intends to stay at the house and pass out the candy while we are trick or treating in our neighborhood.  Hubs and I are not dressing up.

We have a boys football game in the early afternoon and then H's mom is cooking a birthday lunch and cake for my H's upcoming birthday.  We're excited to give him his gifts.  After that we will get the boys dressed and H is taking them to see their mom.  She requested he do so, and she made the effort that he could see the boys last year when it was her turn for Halloween.

It's going to be a good weekend!  Can't think of a better day than Saturday for Halloween to fall on.  How perfect!

Hi Kim - Happy Friday!!

OK - I'll play - first - Cabbage Night??  Ummm - nope - never heard of it - must be an East Coast thing!!  Do share!

My kids are all grown up - sniff - miss the days of taking them out and about.  My daughter is working in a Halloween store - so I think she has had enough of costumes for a while - lol.

BF's band has a gig tomorrow night at a smallish local bar - so we are excited about that.  I love being able to go watch him play - so it's the perfect way to spend the evening.  I will be dressing up as an Angel/Fairy - complete with wings and wand (it's the only costume I could find with a long enough skirt - honestly - the way they make the skirt lengths - just would have shown more of this almost 50 year old than anyone needs to see!! - LOL)

BF is going as White Gold - the milk rock god - LOL - but I think he decided that's not enough - so he is jazzing it up with some old man mask - so ultimately - I'm not sure how it's going to turn out - and when he gets to the mic to sing 'My Song' - I may have to force him to take the mask off - too creepy!!  ;)

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend - and Miss Kim - you enjoy the heck out of DS and that beautiful baby GD.

Hugs and love -

Lynn ;)
