Am I the only one that finds sometimes when I post on other boards the responses are so negative! Thats why i like this board, i actually get support on here instead of just berated. I'll post an issue im having and I just get attacked with negativity instead of empathy. Thank you this board for being much more supportive than that!

Are you referring to other iVillage boards, or other sites altogether? I will say that AskMen.com is a BRUTAL board. The men attack other men mercilessly, and women who post there get attacked as well.

I don't post anywhere else for that very reason. Although there are a few here who I just plain ignore because they are NEVER supportive and have been banned countless times and just keep coming back (and yes, there's more than one). It gets old, but at least I know who to ignore!

I post to another board (won't mention which one for obvious reasons) and recently a woman posted about some cute thing that happened w/ her BF and a couple of non-regulars started attacking her--it wasn't anything related to the original post. So that led to others defending her & finally the moderator had to step in. The 2 "attackers" started saying things like "you are all a clique, you don't like anyone new, etc" which really isn't true. You know, if you never post, then your 1st post is attacking someone, people aren't going to be friendly. I have never seen anything else from these people--they never post their own issues, or say anything about themselves, then when the leader did a "roll call" of course, they didn't put anything on there. I think if people are generally "lurkers" and no one knows anything about them, it's kind of offensive to post rude comments to other people (of course it's not good at any time to be rude).
