so...I am a girl :-)

Saturday night SS was giving me a hard time...maybe ribbing more than usual because I wasn't drinking very much and just in a lo key mood.  It didn't bother me.  But it kind of carried into Sunday...or he started up again Sunday afternoon just giving me a hard time about looking tired.  It bothered me Sunday but I really tried to not be a girl about it and blow it off.  I "thought" I did a good job not letting him know I was bothered but when I got home later I got a text that said "thanks for all the help with the yard chores sugar.  Sorry you didn't have fun today".  So me being me I just replied that I had fun and didn't know what he was talking about.  He called and pushed harder saying that I didn't act like I was ok.  So I just told him what had bothered me and that I realized that it really wasn't about him...but about my issue with sometimes not feeling good enough for him and how I know that stems from my exh telling me regulary that he knew "he could do much better than me and that I was lucky he stuck around" (no joke!).  He went down a couple levels to marry me...just ask him.  Anyway...I think it was a light bulb moment for SS.  He actually used the word I love you (we all know he's an action guy...not a word guy).  He apologized and told me that if he goes to far giving me a hard time or if I'm not in the mood to go along with it that I need to speak up...because usually I am so easy going and good natured about that stuff but he understands there might be times that Im not feeling it and he will stop.  He also said he won't think I'm crazy or being too much of a girl if I do tell him it's bothering me.  It turned out to be a really good conversation for us.  Later he sent me a text saying "I am lucky you want anything to do with me...you are young and gorgeous and make me very happy...don't doubt that ever!" 

I learned a good lesson...he is not going to walk away because I am damaged from my ex...especaily when I am aware of where the insecurities come from and he is willing to be sensitive to those without issue.  How could I want for more? He is awesome!!!
