Single Mothers & Dating

I suppose I should be grateful he actually "tried" .... but can he do nothing right?

Over a week ago he told her he "had a present for her". Now, keep in mind, the 3 Xmas eves he had her overnite till the morning, he bought NO Xmas gifts for his house from Santa. Or himself. *I* bought & wrapped 4 or 5 things, & brought them to his house the day prior & hid them & told him to put them out for her. The 1st Xmas he did. The next 2, he refused .... saying "This isnt her house. Santa should only come to HER house - if you didnt break us up, then she wouldnt have to be here". Lovely. So at age 6 & 7, she woke up Xmas AM to NO Santa gifts until she came home here. & the past 2 yrs he hasnt seen her for her bday or Xmas b/c of losing visitation, yet he never sent any gifts for either occassion to her.

So suddenly he "has a present for her". She asked if he would mail it & he said yes. So every day she called him saying it wasnt here yet. (he lives a mile away but cant drop it b/c of the RO)  Finally after 4 days of his saying it should be there any day, he says "Have your mom come get it from me". So,  1, he DIDNT mail it  &  2, there is a RO, i cant come get it. DUH.

Long story short, he finally told her last nite he was dropping it in the mail box. I said nothing b/c I didnt know how to handle that. he CANT drop it in the mail box. But b4 i made any decisions (eg: call hsi brother to tell him if he drops it in the mail box i could call the cops b/c its breaking the RO *or* if the cops saw him here, they would arrest him) - Taz called Ave back & said "I dont want to get in trouble b/c Mommy may call the cops on me if i drop your present" (to this Ave rolled her eyes at me, nto upset in the least about it) - & he told her his brother would drop the gift today. Which he did.

Its a surf sticker, a t-shirt, & a sweatshirt from this surf shop in town. Ave is a womens size small/med .... these are literally about 5 sizes too small, childrens mediums  :(   & no tags, although they do look new. But i know where they came from b/c of the shop logo on them. I feel so badly b/c she is SO excited about a present from him, & she wont even be able to get them on!   :(   I tried calling the surf shop to see if i could run them over to exchange for a bigger size (even though w/o tags  they may not), but they arent open - its off season.

Shes gonna be so dissapointed on top of the size thing, b/c he led her to believe it may be a Blackberry to replace her cell phone. Ugh.
