Dear Joy,
It means iVillage is closing this board because "pageviews show there's very little interest in the board". Leta and I just got the news a few days ago ourselves out of the blue, and were told not to discuss this until they made a formal announcement here. We're in a bit of a shock... I never saw the value of this community in terms of numbers, but the situation is totally out of my hands.
I'm sorry, Joy, but I am very glad I had the opportunity to meet you before that was made impossible. I'm including my email in my signature. The people I have met through this board are very important to me, and I would love to keep in touch with whomever wants to. I was given the opportunity to cl another board, but my heart was in doing this...I think this board is very special, and I will step down from being a cl for iVillage.
I'm going to make my farewell post soon...this is very hard for me, but my faith tells me to go with it and trust that something better will unfold through this. I've learned a lot from this experience and will never attempt to create a community of such intimate sharing without some control over its existance again!
There are other wonderful communities at iVillage that offer great support, and I would encourage you to continue to seek help, support and commraderie there...also to seek the support you need in your own immediate world as suggested before.
Just know that there is an inner wisdom that you possess that will guide you in all your ways.
