I am throwing my sister-in-law a bridal shower and I am trying to find some cute and inexpensive bridal shower favors that we can make.  Any ideas??

Is there a theme? If not, maybe make one up for the shower. That can really help get the ideas going. Are you thinking food, or an item? How many people/how much do you want to spend per person?

Hi and welcome to the board!

I agree, having a theme is the best way to decide where to go with favors.  Otherwise, some pretty generic ones include net loofahs with body gels or other pampering products (you can buy those at the dollar store).

Fresh flowers in a simple vase (buy the flowers in bulk...you can get a couple dozen roses from Costco for not much money and bud vases which can fit 3 buds from the dollar store works out to a few bucks per person).  The advantage here is that the flowers can be in other vases and used as decoration at the shower before being divided and handed out (divide privately, not in front of the guests).

Good luck!

Melissa

Hi there!

To help out my sister - a college sophomore - with the shower my fiance and I are actually making our own favors LOL

We went to Wal-Mart and bought a favor kit from the clearance aisle - cute little ivory coloured boxes with "thank you" on top - 50 for $15.  We are making candies and for a few $$ at the craft store we bought some heart shaped candy molds and some chocolate waffers.  The candy is really easy to make - the directions are right on the back of the bag.  Its quick and very cheap.  Between the boxes and the cost of the molds and chocolates its going to cost us about $30-35 for 40 favor boxes because we're doing it ourselves.  We are going to do milk chocolate and white chocolate and each box will fit about 3-4 hearts

You can get some great info on doing the candies yourself at
