Hi there my name is Cindy and I just turned 50 on the 19th of October. I have a weight problem had one all of my life. I am single never had a boyfriend because the guys I liked always told me I was to fat and ugly for them. So I never found Mr right.

I was always in competetion with my two sisters who are gorgeous and skinny, they are married with familys and they live in Colorado whereas I live with my senior citizen parents in Western New York in a nice Mobile home park.

I am unemployed because of a disability. I love to garden, take care of my 6 parakeets, read Anne Perry books, take walks, work on the computer. I would love to find a home business I can do using my computer.

I have no friends, but I would love to chat with someone who cares.

Photobucket

Hi, there, Cindy!! I'm VERY pleased to meet you! (I know I've seen your screen name somewhere around the village before.)

Let's be clear here for a moment - I viewed your photo and you are very pretty. So, you certainly are not ugly by any stretch of the imagination! Btw, Happy Belated Birthday! You may be 50 with no romance in your life at present, but he's out there somewhere. There's always someone for everyone.

Cindy, I'm also overweight. In fact, I think the correct term is 'obese.' (I despise that word!) I never had a weight problem when young and I was pretty. (Sorry about that pat on my own back.) It's been rather difficult for me to see the changes coming to my features and body, but mainly because I don't like change in any way, shape or form.

I am also disabled and live on Social Security. Gardening is one of my outdoor joys and I'm a big animal lover. I'm basically shy in real life and somewhat of a recluse, so it's been great to reach out to others through my computer. I've been a member of iVillage for 10+ years and have made many, many friends with whom I can be myself and proud recipient of wonderful support and many cyberhugs.

Cindy, the person on the other side of my computer screen (YOU) is beautiful inside and out and I just know she's incredible!

I hope you'll stay with us here. As you can tell, this is a slow board, but the regular members here are genuine and kind.

See you again soon! ((((((Cindy))))))

Thank you for the much needed compliment.

I am reading books from my favorite author Anne Perry and I even email her from time to time. She is a well know author who lives in Scottland and I just love her books.

I will be making some fudge and getting it ready to send to my brother in law who is in Afghanistan working as a contractor for the Army at the Baghram air force base.

The funny thing is I don't feel or look like I am 50 years old, I have no wrinkles on my face, maybe because I drink nothing but water and I am losing weight by not eating as much as I did when I was a kid and I occasionally will work out with walk away the pounds, but that marching that we do sometimes hurts my hip.

My one sister is going to be a first time grandmother come March, so I am crocheting a layette set for my niece, I still can't get over that one, I used to babysit my niece when she was little now she is married and going to have a little one soon of her own. Time does move on doesn't it....

I have 4 nephews and one niece and they are all out in Colorado and I miss them terribly.

I try to keep busy.

Thanks for being there...

Cindy

Hi Cindy...and welcome to the board! I'm glad you joined us; it's always a pleasure to see a new face here.  And for the record, I think you're a very pretty lady; your smile shows in your eyes and makes me break out in a grin, too. Anyone that can't see the beauty in that... well, it's their loss, I think!

I have a sister that has always been smaller than I am; for years, I felt in competition with her, then I realized that competition was all in my head -- She told me that she envied me! Turned out, she felt I had loads more confidence, was happier and enjoyed life more than she did. Go figure! LOL

I hope you'll make this board one of your internet hang-outs. I'm looking forward to chatting with you more!

Hi there

I live in Western New York and today it looks like thanksgiving is right around the corner, so my Mom and I went grocery shopping and I had to get a few things and it was cold and windy and a little rain fell and so did the leaves on our maple tree.

I love to feed the wild birds and have a red barn feeder with a silo and a thistle feeder sock and a bell feeder. I had a flock of birds this spring and summer but now that winter is coming the bird population had decreased alot, but I still see the cardinal and some finches and my favorites gold finches and chickadees.

My parakeets love to play with tissue boxes, I buy them toys but they play with the boxes, they chew and scratch the box until there is a royal mess on the floor. I am planning a trip for next spring to colorado to see my niece and her husband and their new baby and I am planning on taking my parakeets with me, because pet sitters are to expensive and the one I used did not follow my instructions for their care, so they are coming with mommy this time.

Are you watching the news these days, I watch Fox and what Glenn Beck is saying about this administration and what they are doing to this country is scary and I don't like it, I will be eagerly watching the elections this Tuesday the third of November, how about you?
