Help-

I got  my hair dyed or well, ruined with a semi perm color that turned my hair reddish brown, then a redo turned it black.  I got a soap cap and a toner and it was still a reddish brown, and I got a clarifying treatment and it is now a reddish brown.

I'd like to get to a medium, light brown chocolately color without the red.  I don't know if I should try highlights or what- help!

Thanks,

Amy

Hi,

First, is this home color or at a salon? What is your natural color?

If it was a salon, they really should have corrected it pronto. Myself, I speak w/ the salon manager/owner if that isn't happening.

If this it at home color, it might be time to go to a salon and get it done professionally. Most brands do also offer phone help, so you can tell the which product exactly you used, what happened, what results you want and many will offer to send a coupon or the product to comp for the one that caused the issue.

Since you now seem to have 2 colors and a toner on your hair, you may need to wait before adding more color.

Thanks for the reply...

This was salon dye.  They tried to correct it but just made it worse.  That's when they turned it almost black!

I'm going to a few salons for consultations to see what they say...

thanks

Amy

Oh, how frustrating. Yes, find some salons that really specialize in color and have colorists that are very informed and educated about current products and especially color correction. That just should not have happened.

Good luck and let us know how things turn out.

Hey there-

I went for a few consultations today.  I found a great stylist, one who I had met before and I really like him.  He is going to do a partial/few foils to lighten up my hair and do a new cut, maybe a toner too.  I'm really excited!

Before I went to see him though, I went to another salon for a consult and they said they wouldn't do foils because my hair is damaged so I am upset.  There's nothing I can do now except be good to my hair and I trust this stylist to do just that.

Thanks,

Amy
