I must say I'm not a fan. Their foundation powders were interesting, but mineral makeup and my skin are not friends, unfortunately. A lot of people have total success with them, but I have to be careful because many formulas, bare minerals included, don't really dissolve into my skin, so you can see patches, especially around my nose, of foundation that has settled into my pores and looks downright dreadful.

I did have better luck with their eyeshadows though. I do love the variety of colors and that they are more heavily pigmented than some, but found them a bit messy, as I would always have to spend time wiping away fallout from under my eyes.

Mineral makeup is the same as putting dirt on your skin.  If you do use it you need to use a good facial mud mask once a week to combat the effects of the minerals.   I like the look of minerals too, but heeded the advice of my makeup consultant.  www.beautipage.com/betsibeauty  is a great makeup source.   It has a good test to take that tells you exactly what type of skin you have.  The products are amazing too.

A few thoughts on BM...

- some mineral foundations contain bysmuth oxide (I think that's the right name for that stuff) which does irritate a lot of people's skin, especially when sweating. BM does have it, so not everyone can wear it.
- all mineral foundations contain mica, and some people are sensitive to it too
I know I have to be cautious with mineral foundations. BM is ok on me for example, while everyday mineral causes me huge allergic reactions within minutes.

Now about the final effect which can look, well, powdery, there are a few tricks.
First of all, you have to really work the powder into the kabuki's bristles for a really long time, and then buff onto your skin for quite a while too. Why? Because it's the heat that will activate the powder and make it look almost like liquid foundation.
Second, you can spray some face mist or fix + or whatever on the kabuki before applying or onto your face after application to set the makeup.

Ii hope this helps!
