Hi - I am having a problem getting rid of dry skin on my face -- now that winter is approaching my problem is back.  I have dry skin where if I use a moisterizer such as Eucerin - it makes my skin oily -- other moisterizers go into my skin however my skin is still very patch with dryness and looks awful.  Any suggestions on a moisterizer that could help with this problem?  I would appreciate all the help I can get on this....also I use Dove soap with aloe it in to help....if there is a better soap please let me know about that as well!  Thank you :)

Dry winter skin is a always a problem!  Try using a body wash instead of soap to help with the drying.  I use St. Ives Mineral Therapy lotion which has always helped me.  Below are several links that can also help you.

Hi there,

I wouldn't recommend Dove soap or most soapbars for washing your face. : / Most soaps are too drying, which makes things worse and your skin ends up aging faster. It would be good to use a gentle cleanser, without fragrance, and then follow with a good moisturizer afterwards that is not oily, and preferrably without fragrance also.

Hope this helps!

I'd recommend using a face wash that is made for dry skin and then use a moisturizer that won't clog your pores or go on very thick. Aquaphor is good for your body but the skin on your face is different and needs a less cakey moisturizer; have you ever tried Clinique's moisturizing gel?
