Hi, everyone.
I have been looking for a job since Feb and was contacted by a recruiter this past weekend. I went in to fill out some paperwork thinking that nothing further would happen since I always seem to get caught in one of those "bait and switch" routines--"We have a position for you. This position isn't a fit, but please fill out our paperwork so that we can enter you into our system..."
I had one requirement in particular when accepting a particular job and it had to do with location. I really didn't want to drive downtown (I live about 30-45 minutes away and that is w/o traffic) due to my not being able to tolerate wasting 2 hours of my life commuting to work. However, my hubby suggesting carpooling together, but I'm not sure how often that will happen.
Jobs have been pretty sparse in the area where I'm wanting to work so my question is this:
If you were offered
1. Position with a large, reputable law firm
2. Paid $10k more than your last position
3. Temp-to-perm after 90 days
4. Hours are 8:30-5:00
5. Not sure about benefits once the 90-days are up
Would you take the offer? Of course, the state of the economy comes into play. Has anyone ever worked in a law firm as a coordinator (specifically marketing)? Can you provide a general idea as to the atmosphere?
I understand that every law firm can be different, but if I ask anyone from the firm, I'm sure it'll be more like a "sales" speech. "The company is great blah blah...."
Thanx!
