Still seeking new work but no luck yet. Bad time to be job hunting. Anyhow, things here have not changed. Getting worse! Overheard him on phone with wife yesterday am. They were talking about more vacations coming up besides the one I put in my 1st post. They are not telling me when and will not get paid. These trips will be at least a week. For those who read my lengthy original post on this place, when you recieve a new job offer and if he does not pay for his trips when I can't work, would u "kindly" give HIM 2 weeks notice? I am salary remember.

Also, he is in process of putting together legal contractors for the installers. He wants ot backdate them 2 months! He wants me to sign that date on them. I told him why can't the installers do that when they come in to place their signature on it?

I am feeling extremely uncomfortable here but have no choice until I land a new job. Help!

Last Wednesday, the boss went into the other guy's office and told him quietly(he didn't want me hearing him) he wasn't planning on being in on Friday. Wouldn't tell me. The next am, I figured he was in a good mood so I would casually ask him if he may be taking time off in the near future with the holidays around the corner. Feel him out. Told him I need to plan a head since I won't be getting paid when he is gone. He looked to his left and gave me a long no. Said he knows of nothing and hopefully he will have work for me to do. LIAR! I told him I can't afford to be off 1 day without pay as you know I am walking a fine line with what I make, not to mention I am salaried.

Ten minutes after I sat down working, he said he was going out of town that weekend and will only be in a few hours on Friday. I said, what does that mean for me? He said we will have to find something for you to do hopefully in the next few days. Can you believe him? Flat out liar! You didn't remember the time your taking off 10 minutes ago and from the day before telling the other guy you will be out? He doesn't care about me and knows I am not making it working here as it is. Then to do this. He is just taking advantage of me!

Still seeking a new position, but no luck.

This is so frustrating!  Although, it almost sounds to me like he wants you to come in and would like to find something for you to do so that you can.  Still, he could have said, "I am planning on going out of town this weekend, but am hoping to have things lined up for you so that you can still come in".

I know he does know that you are barely making it as it is, and it's frustrating that you weren't told about the not getting paid while he's out of town, but him wanting to find work for you, makes it seem to me, like maybe he's trying to work with you on the issue - get things lined up so that you can come in.  However, that doesn't explain why he'd tell the other guy he was going out of town and not you.  And then of course, lie about it.

Hi Jennifer. Not sure if you read my original post, but it explains a lot of what I have been dealing with at this job. I feel the boss/owner is taking advantage of me because he originally only wanted to hire somebody part time with a lot less pay; however, because of my situation and my being friends with his daughter, he decided to make it full time to help me out, and I wouldnt have to work 2 part time jobs. He is a tight wad!

If you get time, read my original post about frustrated and financial warning signs. The post was real long, but said a lot of what has gone on since day 1. I have only been here 2 1/2 months. No security and or stability. They take care of the other guy.

I do remember reading your original post now (the comment about part time to full time because of your friend) reminded me.  It must be so frustrating that he keeps playing these games with you.  Have you heard anything else about whether or not he's found work for you to do while he's gone?
