For so many people who are either out of work, or not getting paid what they need, saving money is necessary to make ends meet.  What are your suggestions for saving money?

Pay yourself first by putting aside a specific portion of your weekly or monthly paycheck into a savings account.

I know we've discussed this before, but I don't think the tips ever get old.

Figure out things you can live without (cable tv, high speed internet access) and either cancel or downgrade your plans.

Instead of buying the brand names on food because they're only slightly more expensive, buy the store brand.  Overtime it can add up.

I clip coupons when I can (stores here double them) and use the library extensively ;-)

I just read this great article on weBEgirls.com about saving money on heating bills by buying an electric blanket or heating pad...It was called "Hot Over and Under the Covers."  It sounds like a cost effective way to stay warm and turning down the thermostat!
