Hi Bluepen,
I was wondering about you. Haven't heard from you in ages. I don't check here too often anymore - every two weeks or so - so I'm glad I found your post.
I am very glad that you are still employed, even if it isn't a dream job. Even the jobs that I loved were not perfect.
Don't worry about being considered a "flake" because that is very subjective. Besides, everyone is flaky in one way or another. Who does not have some kind of quirk? :)
I think quirkiness and flakiness are good traits because it makes us more real, genuine and lovable, as long as the flakiness isn't violent or dangerous or related to drugs or drinking. If that were the case, it would need to be addressed and corrected.
I am loving where I moved and been busy setting up two businesses. One of them is a fun, interactive website that is on hold because the host is changing the server and will mess up the site temporarily. So, I have to wait until that transition is complete and make sure everything is working okay before it can "go live". (I can't reveal anything about before it goes live.)
The other business is a virtual admin service. I finished the website and am working on matching promotional materials (business cards and brochures) for a mailing to announce that I am officially in business. It will probably take a while to get that established.
I really need a successful home-based business so that my schedule can be flexible enough for me to visit my family. I don't want to be restricted and have a boss deny me visitation rights - especially since my parents are getting older and I want to be available for them.
