In making your Decisions...

I wish you both best of luck while TTC. I hope it all works out as you want.
We've had a quite a few things affect the choice of our date. But I think the new date we picked will be the one we stick with, at this point I really don't care if we get married in jeans and t-shirts, I just want to get married, so this time there is NO changing the date.
Another big factor for us, is that all our friends and family live about 12 hours from us, and where we live the hotels do not have an off season. (Seriously, they would not even give me a deal when I called to book a block of 20 rooms, because as ALL the hotels here told me, they can easily fill those room all year round at their regular rates) So, we've decided to go back to my hometown for the wedding. It's much easier for us a few others to travel there, than it is for EVERYONE to travel here. It's not too bad, because I know so many different places back home to get married, there were lots of places I always wanted to get married at, and so, in a way it worked out best all way around.
One other thing affecting the planning of the wedding, is the fact that we picked the day before Thanksgiving to have the wedding, so we're not sure if we're going to combine the holiday and the wedding, and do a big turkey dinner for the reception, or if we'll have an earlier ceremony and do just cake and nibblies and coffee and tea for the reception, we're just not sure. I'm going to talk to my Mom and Dad about that a little more, see what they think. I personally like the idea of doing a big dinner, especially since, mainly family are coming to the wedding, with only a few friends on the guest list, it kind of makes sense, but I don't want to offend anyone either. It's difficult to decide. Of course, the cost of everything could decide that for us. lol
Other than that, we're keeping things simple, and sort of tailoring everything to our likes. I'm making story books for programs, and I guess you would say I'm writing our fairy tale. My bouquet is going to be flowers tied to a book, and we're thinking of putting our favors in coffee mugs along with a single serving of coffee (DF is a coffee freak!! lol) But everything is going to be fairly casual, we want it to be a time for everyone to visit and get caught up, and neither of us are really partiers, so we're hoping for a laid back reception too.
