in the 1990's there was a style of pants people (NOT ME) wore around here (South Texas) called Rocky Mountain Jeans. I do not really have a problem with "western wear" (on other's, i DO have a problem with wearing it myself), but i went to a nice church wedding where i saw a couple of girls wearing these awful gawdy southwestern print button down shirts with these "rocky mountains" in turquoise etc. EEEWWW! and another gal wore a skin tight denim trashy looking dress. all the other women were dressed in nice dresses. it is appalling what people think is "dressing up" for weddings.

Well, I wasn't at my mother's wedding to my step father. She wore jean shorts and a white t-shirt. My siblings ran over to the neighbors house to retrieve the pastor and his family. Keep in mind this is around 9 at night. I was at a friend's house for our yearly sleep over the day after Christmas. I didn't hear about it till after I called my mom the next day for a ride home. She said they had to have it before their marriage license ran out.

ok so I just saw this post now but wanted to add my two cents. This is actually for a wedding I didn't go to but was invited to. It was a cousin's daughter's wedding, the wedding was at a camp belonging to an aunt and uncle of mine. Totally fine. The food for about 200 or so guests was made in the weeks leading up to the wedding by family members, also not too bad. BUT she asked the family members invited guest to supply white china, and presumably cutlery, and haul it to the wedding on the day. I actually laughed when I heard this.

BYOD Love it! Another tacky thing about this wedding, my invitation, with DH, was added on to my parents and sent to their house. Now I'm 32 years old and married couldn't they have taken the time to find my address? This was one of the reasons I didn't go. And about the camp, the homemade food and the dishes, she actually has a pretty famous movie director for an uncle (Collin Farrell was in his last movie kind of famous) and he was there. I was embarrassed for her.
