I'm sure this topic has been discussed before but I found a cool link
http://www.weddingwindow.com/blog/2009/10/01/our-expert-opinion-2010-top-wedding-trends/

I was thinking about how I wanted to wear blue heels and was wondering if that would catch on more during next year. I also agree on the birdcage veils becoming more trendy.

I know we're only in Oct. but what do you all think will be the new trends in 2010.

Cool article! Thanks for sharing! :) I really love that gratitude and being gracious are up and coming trends --- hopefully they're not just trends and last forever! I hope I am a gracious and grateful bride in the future! :)

I like the trend of favors becoming more meaningful, customized, etc. Things that really reflect the couple, the local area and that are really an effort to thank people for taking the time to attend. I have no idea what they will be yet, but I hope to come up with a great idea for meaningful favors.

I like the trends of being DIY, budget-conscious, and supporting local economies.

I also really love the trend of more couples seeing each other before the ceremony! I abosolutely want to do that!!!! :)

A past trend I love is cupcakes instead of regular wedding cake, photo booths (not that I could ever afford that) and all the cookie bar, desert bar, candy bar, soda bar ideas I've seen.

I was going to wear a pair of blue shoes that I already had but they have a 1 or 2 inch heel and I know I wouldn't last in them since I am not a heel girl so I bought another pair of non blue flats.

Who knew we were this trendy - we definitely went in an eco-friendly direction, using a lot of re-usable items and trying to minimize waste (thus the potted plant centerpieces rather than cut flowers, etc). Our invites were gorgeous and printed on recycled paper, with eco-friendly printing.

I had blue shoes - more because I wanted a bit of color than because I thought it was trendy. They were great though - wedge heel so they didn't sink in the dirt at our outdoor wedding and very comfy.

Ditto the cupcakes - totally practical decision. We didn't want anyone to have to worry about cake cutting and we got to have lots of flavors to play with. They ended up being completely adorable, which was an added bonus.

I think short wedding dresses are going to become more popular in the coming years! Seeing more of those lately.
