Not Quite Engaged

To come out of lurkdom! I found this board sometime in 2007 and have been lurking ever since, along with the Waiting to Try board. I knew the relationship I was in probably wouldn't last and that's why I never started posting on this board. In April of this year I found an old friend from jr. high on facebook. I friend requested him. We'll call him "C". He sent me a message, he asked for my #, he texted me one night, we went on a date and the rest is history! We are still "dating" and are not officially "bf and gf" thanks to the economy. I lost my good paying job in jan. of this yr. and his work hours were cut. He wants to wait until he can wine and dine me and treat me to nice outings and things before making it official. I told him I don't care about those things, but he insists its important to him to be a fully contributing partner in the relationship, which I respect.

A little about us...we went to school together since jr. high. We went to the same high school as well only he graduated a year before I did. He was on the baseball and football team and I was a cheerleader. We hung out a few times as friends, but never dated. Actually, he liked one of my friends and one of his friends liked me. Even though he lived a block away from my house all this time, we both never imagined we would meet again later in life, being that I went away to San Diego for college and attained a BA in Communication Studies and now I work and reside in LA, CA. Even though we are still dating, I suspect we'll be bf and gf and then nqe very soon so that's why I decided to come out of lurkdom. I am also looking forward to starting a family some day, hence my interest in the WTT board, but I want to wait until I'm married and have some time with my husband first.

I'm 24 and there are a couple of pics of me attached. C is 26 and I won't be attaching pics of him, but he's Latino and he's handsome, I assure you : ) I look forward to being involved with this board and hopefully I'll eventually be an nqe grad also!

Hi Nicole and thanks so much for introducing yourself! :) If you've been lurking since 2007, you know more about this board than I do because I didn't start my lurking until 2008. ;) I'm E (27) with S (36) for a year and 7 months, living together in Virginia. I lurk on WTT too (and DTT, and others) but won't let myself participate for quite awhile yet. I don't need to add baby fever to my marriage fever, lol. I hope you enjoy posting on NQE and you'll be a grad in no time! ;)
