I had this dream a few nights ago. Let me preface this by saying that I have really wacky and vivid dreams all the time.
My family, SO and I were vacationing in this little apartment in the downtown/industrial part of our city. I got in my car to leave and SO came to the door when it was still open and got down on one knee. He opened a ring box that held the most hideous ring I've ever seen!! It was yellow gold (not a fan). There were two big thick chunky horizontal bands of metal that held a row of four round diamonds in between them (almost like a channel setting?). One of the four diamonds was pink so it looked really off center. I was soo confused because he didn't say anything! I just looked at him and said 'I am so confused. What is going on?' I remember having this bewildered look on my face. Since I didn't answer him he got up and walked away. Right then these three men came up and kidnapped/jumped him. A man from across the street came out and I thought he was going to help us. Instead he was in on it too. SO got away but had to spend the night talking to detectives and answering questions. In the morning he came back and was eating breakfast with us. I asked him what was up with the day before (talking about the proposal). He said 'Oh that wasn't real. I was just kidding, it was a joke.'
What the heck!? How bizarre. I told SO about the dream and he just shook his head and laughed. He's very used to my crazy dream stories by now ;)
Anyone else? Tell me I'm not the only one who has these kinds of dreams.
Havent had any proposal dreams but i have occasional baby dreams. SO and i were talking about kids yesterday over dinner. then i had a dream about us having a baby last night while i was sleeping.. kinda crazy.. I used to not be able to remember my dreams that well but i quit smoking on the 1st and ever since i have had some crazy weird vivid dreams!!!
I've had my fair share over the last (almost) 9 years, lol. A few that stand out in memory are:* I went on a family trip with B, his brothers, and their parents.. on the last day there, just as we're about to get into the cab for the airport, his brother proposes, by asking me to become an official member of the family* B had called into the local radio station in hopes of winning the trip for 4 to Disneyland that they're giving away this week/month/whatever it is, and of course, we won (it's a dream afterall). We took DD with us, along with my Dad, and it was the best trip of my life. Anyway, he ended up getting my Dad to look after DD for a few hours while we went for dinner at the hotel, and then took a walk around the park for some quiet time.. and he proposed in front of Cinderella's castle.. "The moment I met you, I knew you were the one, S. You're MY Princess, and I want to make you my Queen. Will you make me the happiest man in the world.. and marry me?" And low-and-behold, he pulls out the ring I've always dreamed about. Le sigh
* Knowing that DD and I watch 'Ellen' every morning, B wrote to her via e-mail, stating that we were huge fans of the show, and our biggest dream was to see a taping live, and meet her in person. A few weeks later, B tells me we're going on a trip, but doesn't let me know where we're going, nor how we're getting there. The dream fast-forwards on me, and next thing I know, we're at the studio, dancing our little hearts out. The show goes on as normal, but then Ellen starts talking about a letter she received, blah, blah, blah.. and asks B, DD, and myself up to the stage. Dumbfounded, I go up, and Ellen mentions the B had another surprise.. and, he gets down on one knee in front of millions of viewersAnd, the latest:* B proposed on the 'anniversary' of the day he gave me my promise ring (Nov. 16th). I don't remember quite what he said, but it was something to the effect of, "8 years ago, I gave you my promise that I'd marry you one day.. blah, blah, blah.. will you marry me?"
i had a proposal dream two days before he proposed. Weird. I told him about it and that in the dream I was upset that he was proposing to me in front of a bunch of people- he kept a good face and just laughed. Two days later engaged.
All of those dreams are great! I'm glad I'm not the only one who's having these :)
That's too funny ldp328! Were you expecting the proposal at all after that dream? Or were you still suprised? :)
I don't think he'll be proposing too soon. I don't think it will happen until, at the earliest, summer 2010. I know he'll propose by the end of 2010 though, yippee! I think I've been having so many dreams lately because I've been looking at rings more online and thinking about our future engagement as time creeps further along. Plus, two of my coworkers (including my office-mate) are planning fall 2010 weddings so I definetely have that all on the brain!
I've had two more proposal dreams lately. One was where he was trying to buy a ring and didn't know my size so he tried to slyly email me and ask me what it was. I think it was phrased something like this: "I was thinking about your ring size the other day and realized I didn't know what it was! What's your ring size?" Because of that email I figured out that he was planning on proposing soon and freaked out because I didn't want him to propose that soon. I told SO about it (I tell him all my dreams, I'm very open and share everything with him) and he said 'well just because I'm looking at rings doesn't mean I'm going to propose soon.' Well well! I wonder if that means he's going to do a little shopping soon...? :)
My other dream was last night. SO proposed in a really sweet way (it was the most 'normal' dream proposal I've had) and I was so excited, but then I saw the ring.. it was gorgeous and a similar setting to one's I love. However... instead of being set in white gold or any metal it was set in CEMENT! haha! His dad's a welder and he told me in the dream that his dad made it for him. Oh man... I told him about it when I woke up this morning and he just laughed. But I made him promise not to get me a cement set ring ;)
