Well, we've had several weeks of soccer and I think we are considering stepping down after this season. It has been a lot lately, juggling both of our teams, the board position, and having kids who also play. I think once a volunteer position starts to become work and stress it's time to re-evaluate....

We are a soccer family as well thanks to DS.  DH and I knew nothing about soccer until DS started playing at the age of 4. He's 9 now and getting better each year. He truly loves it. He's scored 4 goals so far this year, three in just one game.  He's a little fella so he's been enjoying that his height doesn't seem to matter much in soccer. He whips in and out between everyone's legs before they even know he's been there.

I'm sorry that you're thinking about stepping down. I know that good volunteers are so hard to come by. We have treasured each one of our coaches.

That's great about your son Amy. I know what you mean about being smaller and able to maneuver in and out. We have three playing, one is on the boys varsity team in high school. He's played since he was 6. And my girls both play. It's just so draining with me on the soccer board and both of us coaching. I enjoy the kids but not all the work that goes along with it :)
