Hi Andee,

Welcome to the group and the industry!

I've been a Virtual Assistant for over 2 1/2 years now (after having been a corporate Executive Assistant for 8+ years) and I can honestly say it is one of the best decisions I ever made.

I have a bunch of resources that will prove helpful to you on my website, www.EAtoVA.com, so feel free to stop by.  You can also pick up my fr*ee special report, “The Liberated Executive Assistant: How to Break Free From The Corporate Grind and Become Your Own Boss!”, which has some really valuable information for those just getting started.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any other questions.

Best regards,

Sydni

Hello, I am currently in the corporate rat race. I am a corporate analyst in the New York financial district. I have been reading a number of articles regarding Virtual Assistants (VA) and would seriously like to start the steps in becoming a VA. Do you have any advice on how I should plan this through. I have looked online and have found some useful articles but most of them want money for their seminar, so I am afraid it is just a scam. Anything you can share would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance,
Melissa

Hi Melissa,

Thanks so much for your message!  I can definitely relate to how you feel.  I felt the same way when I was in your shoes about three years ago!  :)

I actually, just wrote about this very subject in my newsletter a couple of weeks ago.  The article is entitled, "The Top 3 Ways To Get Started in Virtual Assistance".  You're welcome to read the article at http://www.eatova.com/2008/08/top-three-ways-to-get-started-in-virtual-assistance/

When I quit my corporate job over 2 1/2 years ago to start my VA business this is what I did:

1) Educated myself
2) Prepared a transition plan
3) Followed my transition plan
4) Invested in training
5) Immediately implemented everything I learned
6) Kept working hard to make steady progress

I'd be happy to answer any other questions you may have.  Please feel free to email me at Questions@EAtoVA.com.

Best regards,

Sydni Craig-Hart
