Hi everyone -

I'm new to this board but not new to iVillage in general. I started on ParentsPlace back in 1997 and was a CL for the Catholic Board and the December 2002 Expecting Club.

In August of last year, I started my VA business, however, I did have a previous Web Design business which I had started in 2000 and disbanded after the birth of my son with special needs.

In my previous work out of the home life, I was an executive secretary, administrative assistant, Marketing Assistant, Public Relations Assistant, Print Newsletter Editor, and a Freelance Writer for a local newspaper. Becoming a Virtual Assistant seemed like a natural step.

Looking forward to the exchange of ideas here.

Best wishes,

Jeanne

Jeanne - congratulations on your new venture. I have a personal assistant firm in Philadelphia, PA. Have you checked out elance.com? A lot of the jobs pay less then what one would hope for but it might help you get your feet wet. You can also comb through ads on CraigsList.com. I belong to the ICEA (International Concierge and Errandrunners) and I try to be supportive of the other concierges in my area through this organization.

I hope this helps.

Lori
